Textile Artist, Classes and Workshops in Bristol

I inherited my love of sewing from my mother who made some of our clothes, soft furnishings, embroidered, knitted and crocheted. I took A level needlework, and while training to be a primary teacher and teaching, I carried on sewing as a hobby making bridal wear and curtains. Then while having three young girls at home I made accessories and gifts to sell at fairs and combined my love of teaching and textiles to start small classes at home. I have completed a City and Guilds in Embroidery.
Areas of interest I have been exploring include, dress, florals, lace, whitework, line and tone through black stitch and incorporating text.
My work reflects my childhood experiences and memories, evoking a sense of traditional, the peaceful and spacious countryside in which I grew up and the abundance of flowers I was surrounded by.

I am a member of the North Bristol Artists
